Medical Examinations

One human year is equivalent to 7 dog/cat years. Once your pet turns 3 years old in human years it is equivalent to 4 years for cats and small dogs, 5 years for medium dogs, and 6 years for large dogs. A lot happens to your pet in 7 metabolic years so their yearly physical exams are very important. This is usually done in conjunction with whatever vaccines are required for that year.

Microchip Identification and Tattoo

When your pet undergoes a procedure requiring anesthetic, we highly recommend that some form of identification be placed at that time, whether it is a tattoo or a microchip.

Tattoo’s are placed in your pet’s right ear. You will see a combination of numbers and letters. This combination is part of the pet tattoo program which is recognized by throughout BC.

A microchip is placed by implanting a rice grain sized microchip under the skin. Your pet will be identified by a unique number that has been assigned to them which is then revealed by a scanner. The whole process is safe, simple and effective.
