Why is my pet itchy?

There are several reasons why your pet may be itchy. Fleas are the most common reason for itchy pets. Other causes include internal parasites, external parasites and skin related problems such as pyoderma (deep skin infection) and allergic skin disease. We recommend contacting a veterinarian to help direct you down the right path for proper treatment of your pet.

Why should I use flea control? My pet doesn't have fleas.

Fleas can be very difficult to see because pets have a very high grooming efficiency. This means the pet will groom themselves when the flea bites, swallowing the flea before you see. The pets are then left with the bite as well as the flea's saliva which can make them very itchy.

Why should I use a product like Advantix if the tick still bites my dog?

What is laser surgery and why would I opt for it for my pet?

Laser surgery is surgery preformed using a laser rather then a scalpel blade. The laser produces an invisible beam of light which vaporizes the water normally found in the skin and other soft tissue. The energy from the laser beam seals nerve endings and cauterizes small blood vessels without crushing, tearing or bruising, which in turn means less pain, swelling and bleeding for your pet. It also sterilizes as diseased tissue is removed, killing bacteria that cause infection. This leads to a reduced risk of infection, more precise surgery and a more rapid recovery.
